Norrtåg is investing heavily in children and young people in northern Sweden and is halving the price of association trips. The offer is aimed at children and youth associations in both sports and culture.
– We want to make it easier for more people to travel to matches, competitions, cups, camps, performances and other activities within the club community, says Teresa Bergner, Marketing and Sales Manager at Norrtåg.

Club life gives children and young people the opportunity to meet, develop and experience things together. In northern Sweden, it is often a long way to matches, competitions, camps, performances and other activities. During parts of the year, travel also means darkness, snow and winter road conditions, and for clubs, travel can mean large costs.

The train offers a safe and comfortable way to travel together, where the journey itself becomes part of the experience. On the train, people can socialize, eat, rest or prepare together instead of leaders and parents having to drive long distances themselves.

– With this initiative, we are significantly reducing the cost and giving more associations the opportunity to choose a safe and secure way to travel together, says Teresa Bergner.

More young people will discover the train

From 1 October, non-profit sports and cultural associations will receive a 50 percent discount on Norrtåg's regular ticket price for travel within their children's and youth activities. The discount also applies to accompanying leaders. The association registers with Norrtåg and can then book their trips via Norrtåg's association portal.

For many children and young people, the group trip can also be an opportunity to get to know the train as a mode of transport. Gaining experience of travelling by public transport at a young age can contribute to security and independence when you later start to travel more on your own.

– Norrtåg wants to contribute to the development in northern Sweden. The distances here are great, and with this initiative we want the distances to be less of an obstacle for children and young people to participate in cups, camps, concerts and performances together with their association, says Teresa Bergner.
